Show You to the World with PICASA!

What is Picasa?

Picasa is a free Google tool that´s help you to view, to manage, ogarnize and share digitals photos and images files, originally created by Lifescape, Inc. but bought in 2004 by Google Inc. which developed it as a freeware. Picasa is a word formed from two words of a Spanish painter named Pablo Picasso, the phrase mi casa (Spanish for "my house") and "pic" for pictures (personalized art). The software of Picasa (that you download, install and run on your PC) helps you to locate, and organize edit and add effects to your photos stored on your computer. The Picasa Web, inside of your browser lets manage photos through the Picasa Web Album a photo sharing website, where you can store and share photos online. To download the application go to www.picasa.google.com. To use your Picasa Web Album and share with friends family go to www.picasaweb.google.com, and use your Google account to sign in.

Picasa Features: The Picasa application, supports Windows XP, Windows Vista and Windows 7, Mac OS X too and has Google+ integration for users of that service, so you can upload and share your photos on Google+ , Tag your Google+ friends and share pictures of them. For organizing photos, Picasa has file importing, tracking features, as facial recognition, and collections. Picasa offers other several basic photo editing functions, including color enhancement, red eye reduction, cropping, adding text to image, slide shows, printing, and image timelines.

The Picasa Web Albums (PWA) allows users with accounts at Google to store and share 1 GB of large photos for free. However, users can also rent additional storage space (shared between Google services such as Gmail, Google Drive and Picasa Web Albums) from 25 GB to 16 TB. PWA uses an "unlisted number" approach for URLs for private photo albums. This feature enables a user to email a private album's URL to anyone, and the recipient can view the album without having to create a user account. This is done via an "authentication key" that must be appended to the URL for the album to be shown. The Picasa Help files say that private albums are not searchable by anyone except the user. To conclude, another visibility option named "sign-in required to view" is available too. This makes the album viewable only to those with whom the album is explicitly shared.
